Una raccolta delle distillerie irlandesi, e dove si trovano, che producono i marchi più celebri del whisky made in Ireland.
Le distillerie in Irlanda sono presenti un po’ ovunque e vantano marchi celebri e meno noti del whiskey irlandese, un prodotto apprezzato sia in Italia sia nel resto del mondo. Va detto che ci sono molte fabbriche, un tempo attive, che hanno chiuso definitivamente i battenti per via della crisi o per le acquisizioni di multinazionali del settore. Il business delle distillerie irlandesi e ambito e pur restando il nome, e l’origine, la proprietà è oramai straniera.
È il caso della distilleria Cooley, acquistata da un colosso statunitense, per 95 milioni di dollari, così come per il Jameson ora appartenente alla francese Pernod Ricard. La Diageo, padrona del marchio Guinness, ha acquistato Bushmills nel 2005 mentre la scozzese William Grant & Sons ha acquisito Tullamore Dew nel 2010.
